Statement Regarding Change of Gala Venue

On December 8, 2018, The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area will be hosting our 30th Annual Scholarship Benefit & Awards Gala. This milestone event will recognize and showcase our corporate partners, community leaders, and most importantly our outstanding youth.

This year’s gala was originally planned to be hosted at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in San Francisco. Due to the recent protests and labor unrest at Marriott Hotels across the country and in San Francisco, we have made the decision to move our event to a different host hotel in San Francisco. The event date remains the same, December 8, 2018.

While the 100 Black Men of the Bay Area is an impartial party and not involved in these protests, we support those who are on strike for fair pay, job security, and safe working conditions. We sincerely hope that these issues will be resolved soon.

The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area is a 501C (3) non-profit public benefit organization. Through our national program theme “Four For The Future”, we focus on Mentoring, Education, Health & Wellness, and Economic Empowerment. We have awarded over 1.4 million dollars in college scholarships to over 700 Bay Area students.

We apologize to our sponsors, supporters, and guests for any inconvenience and we sincerely thank you for your support and understanding.

The new San Francisco host hotel will be the Hyatt Regency.  Please refer to our Gala webpage for more information.
